Teach First is a charity working to end educational inequality. Since 2002, thousands of graduates have joined our Leadership Development Programme in schools across England and Wales and helped change the lives of more than a million young people in low-income communities.

If you grow up in a low-income community, your chances of future life success are limited. We want to change that.

Teach First is an education charity that works towards a day where every child has the education they are entitled to. We find and develop great people to become inspirational leaders in the classroom, in schools and across all sectors of the economy.

Our trainees join our Leadership Development Programme. Through the programme, we support them to become qualified teachers, to gain a fully funded Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Leadership and go on, if desired, to gain a Master’s. We also introduce them to some of the most influential organisations and experts in the professional world – a diverse range of connections who share our commitment to ending educational inequality and value the skills and experiences our participants gain.

After the two years, more than half continue to teach within schools in low-income communities, with many moving into middle and senior leadership positions. Others continue to work towards our vision from positions within government, industry and their own social enterprises, demonstrating a life-long commitment to ending inequality in education from both inside and outside the classroom.

The programme offers:
* A fully-funded and salaried route into teaching, including an internationally recognised Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Leadership (PGDE), worth double the credits of a PGCE
* Classroom-based training, allowing you to take real responsibility from the outset
* Guaranteed NQT year after gaining QTS at the end of your first year
* Unparalleled career support during and after the programme, which enables our participants to progress quickly in school leadership, education policy, social enterprise and other fields.
